The Go To Outfit

I cannot overstate the importance of having an outfit that you feel great in, no questions asked.  It should be simple, easy, and truly the epitome of “no brainer”.  If you analyze your own closet, it is probably the outfit that gets worn straight out of the clean laundry basket.  You probably throw it on when you want to be guaranteed to look lovely.  You probably feel quite thoroughly you when you put it on.

My Go To Outfit

At the moment, I don’t have a true “go to” outfit.  I have a 5 month old, which means that my entire fall wardrobe is 2 years old.  :)  This is a big hole in my wardrobe, and I can’t wait to fill it.  I have a feeling it will involve black skinnies, some kind of stripe, my gray riding boots, and a cowl of some sort.  The sounds like the most perfectly me and perfectly fall outfit.

Fellow Bloggers’ Go To Outfits

Lindsay from Aisle to Aloha gets to live in the fabulous Hawaii with her serviceman Husband.  She has this to say about her favorite go to outfit.

There’s no doubt that living in Hawaii is amazing, except when I’m yearning for some crisp fall weather! Oh to wear boots and jeans again! To satiate my need for cozy, I throw on my go-to denim cutoffs and cozy up my outfit with a comfy fall scarf. It’s my favorite outfit for bike-riding with my man on cool evenings, hanging out on the lanai with friends or photographing surfers at sunset. I’ll be excited to throw on those boots again when we move someday, but for now, I’ll work with what I’ve got and use those cool trade winds to my scarf-wearing advantage!

Rachael from Letters to Ames is the momma to 3 littles under 2!!  Yes, that includes a set of beautiful twin girls.  I think she shoud get a medal for even getting dressed in the morning!!  She says this about her go to outfit,

I like this outfit because it’s easy…Easy to pick out, put on, wear all day, nurse babies in, go out in public in, etc. etc. etc!  I don’t have to shave before I wear it. I don’t have to shower before I wear it.  It doesn’t really match, but I like it anyway. It makes me feel somewhat put together without effort.  All I do is apply a bit of lipstick and skip out on the rest of my makeup/jewelry… the headwrap is fancy enough!

And then we have Brooke from Pure and Noble, who is a genius when it comes to finding estate sale scores.  She can take something I would pass over as too grandma and style it into something fabulous.  On her go to outfit,

This is hands down one of my favorite outfits to wear. It’s easy, comfortable, and a bit edgy. It’s not your run of the mill t-shirt and jeans, but it’s just that comfy. If it’s cold out and I’m headed out to dinner with friends or the hubs, I just swap my shoes for black suede wedge boots, throw on some gold earrings and grab my vintage brown croc clutch. So easy and versatile…I love it.

The jacket was a thrift store find for $3.95.  The shirt, another thrift store score. I’ve had it in my closet for years – she’s been good to me.  Skinnies are from The Gap, clearance section.  The shoes were scored at Nordstrom Rack for a steal.  As you can see, I’m not one to drop a lot of cash on my wardrobe. I think you can look and feel like a million bucks without spending a lot.
