Words on Wednesday: An Ode to March

wordsonwednesdaypicHeeey yo! In an effort to try and keep some real life faces attached to the words that we post over here, I’m trying to drop in now and again to say hey, sistas! Usually in quite a non-routine kind of way because that’s usually quite how my life goes. But annnnnyways, I’m Annie! I get to write and help oil the chain around The Tiny Twig. It’s my alternative to studying and writing papers for the degree I’ll be finishing up in May. I love warm weather + I love rain way more than the average bear and if I just so happen to get both on the same day, I’m beaming! Listening to rain, running in the rain, driving in it, you name it – so I’m like HEY SPRING, OVER HERE.

Wednesday’s aren’t my favorite day because I tend to feel pretty worn out from the clash of the beginning of the week pep running out and the weekend being so near. So I’m thinking it’s a good idea to try and get some of my brain cloudiness out on to this virtual paper. And, we have something to celebrate —- heeelllllooo, March!!!! Here’s what’s up:

  1. Not kidding, I’m really obsessed with this month. I always have been. It is the light at the end of my winter tunnel. And this winter was totally awesome and I have 0 room to complain as long as it keeps bringing this early spring weather. But really, I feel like this month is SO full of life. The whole, “In like a lion, out like a lamb” thing has always gotten my attention. It holds my birthday and I’m a proud self-birthday lover. And it holds Easter this year, too! So happy happy March!! :)

  2. I’m heading on a long spring break road trip and I am counting on these 3 things to help it go smooth:

    1. The Big Book of Questions – it’s the ultimate conversation starter book and you’ll learn a lot about the person you are traveling with!

    2. These really good coloring/doodling/anything you want to do with them pens

    3. These fun Wonder Word books – I take word puzzles very seriously

  3. During my trip, my only plans are to start and finish The Nightingale and The Goldfinch. Finishing one of those books is more important to me than getting a tan. Does that mean I’m an adult now?

  4. I’ve had a heavy heavy head cold for two weeks now.  I think it has a lot to do with all the changes in temperatures that the Midwest has been experiencing. Lots of water, this cute little Vasoline, and lavender oil have helped. Any tips on how to kick it out of my body??

  5. jennifer-garner-01-435I wrote a fun and helpful (at least, I hope) review of a few of my favorite things from Everlane.

  6. Does anyone else have a weird obsession with trying out new colors of Post it notes? I feel like goldilocks. These are too bright, these are too plain, and these so far are just perfect! No? Just me? Okay!

  7. Still drooling over Jennifer Garner’s Oscar look. Also, still crying over Ben and Jen.

  8. Kelly Clarkson’s new song Piece by Piece gets my crying everytime I listen. And then I watched the video of her performing in on American Idol and BALLED.

I really would love to find out what’s going on with you. Maybe you’re more of a fan of Wednesday’s than I am? Who’s gotten a Shamrock Shake, yet?? Happy March, friends.
