meatloaf at relevant conference

Yeah.  I said it.  There was meatloaf at the Relevant Conference.  There was also passion and promise and chaos and joy and pain and honesty…yes, honesty.  There was so much dreaming and planning.  There were first time hugs for online friends, there were hours of catchup for faraway ones.

I was away from Husband and my boys for about 4 days–and spent it in the company of some really amazing women.  Really, they are doing some serious moving and shaking in the online world.  And of course, that means they move and shake in the real world, too.

I was charmed to be with women who get that a friend can be real even when you’ve never stood face to face.  That was a first for me.  Having never been to a blogging conference, I was elated to meet these dear women I call friends.  My cup is filled to the brim with ideas, having brainstormed with some of the best of them.  My ribs hurt from laughing.  Tweets and comments now have voices.  There is beauty in being understood, being seen, being challenged.  I had never experience that with the online community…in real life.  And now, I have.  I can positively say, some of the most dear people I know live in place flung far from me.

I love that I have people in my local town and online.  It is so crucial to me that I am known and that I know others deeply.  That is nectar of life, the sweet spot, the glory.  Really seeing, really being, really engaging.  Do you have a community where you are known?
