This has been a hard month in the news, Iraq and ISIS, Robin Williams, and Ferguson. The world is not an easy place to be–and if you’re like me, you want to make a difference, bring some good, and maybe bring some light. It can be hard to know what to do with the hard things. It can be hard to know what to do when you’re far away, when the facts seem hard to grasp, when people are hurting or being oppressed.
I hear that, and I get that. And, really, that’s why we started Wildly Co., so you could have a go-to and feel-good place to shop for your kids. You wouldn’t have to examine the whole systemic problem of unethical labor practices in developing countries. You’d know us and trust us and know that we are for the good and the hearts of the people producing the clothes we sell. We’d see their faces and their work conditions, and we’d show them to you and you’d KNOW. And, the clothes your kids wear could be a thing you were doing good through, and really just one less thing to think about.
With Wildly Co., we’re not asking you to take on another cause as much as we are trying to provide a solution to one small part of the problem. You don’t have to be an advocate, you can just be a mom or a dad or an auntie who wants your people to look great. We’ll do the hard work for you, and you can think about other things. I don’t have the answers for all the worlds problems, although I sure wish I did. I can’t make injustice go away and I can’t comfort mothers who are faraway and losing children. But, I can take what I know and what I’m good at and make one little slice of the hard stuff a little easier to navigate.
