starting a second day

we've all had one of those days. you wake up on the wrong side of the bed and just can't shake it. well, there's a super simple way to turn it all around!

During most days, there is a point where I want a do over. It could be the best day ever, and at some point I still snap at someone, get a little selfish, or start to feel anxious. It happens. It’s okay.

When the day starts to get the best of me, I decide to make a hard stop and start over. It’s as simple as that. It’s kind of like trying to “wake back up” on the right side of the bed. :)

Here are my 5 steps to starting a “Second Day”.

  1. Ask for forgiveness for my attitude. Both from those I’ve offended and from God.
  2. Take between 5 and 30 minutes to rest (from listening to a song I love or grabbing a quick-o nap!). Seriously, this can be so varying and you can do it no matter how little or much time you have.
  3. Spend 5-10 minutes in the Word. Find a bit of Scripture that you can think on for the rest of your day.
  4. Take care of a task you’ve been dreading. (You know? You have the most determination in the morning…so, it’s true too after you “reset” your day!). You’ll feel so much better having this accomplished. Half the time I’m having a bad day is because of something I’m letting go undone.
  5. Get yourself a little snack or drink and get going on the rest of your day!

How do you press the reset button when your day gets away from you?
