M2 :: Mission Complete!

Today I spent the day researching different local printing options for my images.  I knew they needed to be fast, not terribly expensive…and I really really wanted them press printed on watercolor paper.  It seems I was pressing my luck a bit on that last part.  :)  I figured that much from the outset–and I'll talk more about that tomorrow when I reflect on this mission…but overall I'm really happy with what I sent to my favorite educators.

I wrote a short but heartfelt note to each teacher using some sweet new stationary my mother-in-law (hi Robin!) chose for me at Christmas.  The notes basically stated that they had instilled in me a lifelong desire to learn and a passionate curiosity about the world around me.  I said that the foundation for a joy in and love of learning they set in 7th grade had yet to be surpassed.  That, in short, they were incredible influences in my life–even in the short time they taught me.

I also described why I chose the piece of art that I did–and packaged it right up with the little notes.  I actually sent them both to the school in the same package…because this dynamic duo still teach together, side-by-side as the greatest 7th grade odd-couple in central Indiana.  I think that's my favorite part of the story.  :)

I love how this mission turned out, and even though I wish I could do more (as I will detail in tomorrow's post) I am so glad to finally show my appreciation to these fine educators.  I hope they get 100 letters like mine each year…because, they certainly deserve it!
