your fancy holiday dress

Margaret Barley is a new contributor here on Tiny Twig.  I’m excited that she’s here today sharing!

So, you might have purchased a fancy dress for all of those holiday get togethers. But what do you do with that dress when all of the plays, and cookie-swaps, and gift exchanges, and church services, and dinner parties are over?

How the heck do you get some more milage out of your special party dress? Here are some super easy ways you can wear that dress more than once.

Wear your dress out for lunch! Apparently I decided to channel my inner “Elf” with my yellow tights. The trick here is to layer. Tights are one of my main winter staple items. Can’t be donning those bare legs when it’s 30 degrees out! Brr! Pick up a pair of colored tights, don’t be afraid! Colored tights can add some fun to a black dress or color block with a colored dress.

Depending on the amount of “glitz” your party dress has, I say wear it to the office (or wherever else you happen to get work done!) Just think professional. Adding a blazer or cardigan helps pull everything together. Try black tights this time to keep things neutral. Since my dress is a solid color, I added some fun shoes.

So, to get through the last bit of the winter blahs, pull your fancy dress out from the back of your closet and give it new life!

Such a great idea and I love the green :) I have a stone colored dress the same material and only wore it once for a party. I should really layer it up and enjoy!
