pre-conference meet and greet

Written by on September 4, 2012 in influence, More Passion - 18 Comments

Conferences can be crazy to attend if you don’t know anyone!  So, we wanted to eliminate that fear and start getting to know each other early.  Today, we’re creating a lovely linkup for women who are attending Influence.  I hope through this linkup, you’ll feel connected if you are already coming, you’ll feel reassured if you are on the fence (so buy that ticket already!), and that you’ll find some new blogs if you’re completely unable to attend.

To participate you must do 2 things:
1.  Have (or purchase!) a ticket to Influence.

2.  Visit the blog of the person linked before you (and maybe even more) and leave them something nice. Welcome them to the community.  Give them a big smile and a firm handshake.  Oh, it’s not October yet?  Okay, wait on the handshake.  :)

In your post, let us know these things:
1.  3 get-to-know-me items.  These can be fun facts, quirky things, or heartfelt sentiments.  Whatever–your voice, you choose.

2.  2 things you’re looking forward to about the conference.  This should speak for itself.  :)

3. 1 thing you can’t leave home without.  Maybe you still sleep with your blankie?  Maybe you never leave home without your hair dryer.

Things you should know about me:

1.  I wanted to be an astronaut until I was 14.  I loved learning about the history of the space program, was enamored by the hey-day of the astronaut glory (the style, the celebrity, the courage!).  I have been to Cape Canaveral many times and have seen the Space Shuttle launch.  Space travel is still magical to me.

2.  I can wiggle my ears and I cross my toes (like other people cross their fingers) absent-mindedly.  This drives my husband nuts.

3.  I love football.  Like REALLY love football.  I don’t even just love the Colts (my hometown team).  I love the whole sport and game of football.  Love.

Two things I’m looking forward to about Influence:

1.  To be honest, I’m looking forward to seeing the fruit of my labor.  Planning this conference has been a labor of love, an adventure with Jessi, and truthfully has caused quite a few restless nights thinking/dreaming of details and to-dos.  We want it to be so lovely for you.  So full of joy.

2.  I can’t wait to learn more about affiliate marketing from Jess Turner.  I can’t wait to attend Amber Haine’s writers’ workshop.  I am absolutely thrilled with the lineup of speakers we have.

One thing I can’t leave home without:

1.  Sheepishly?  Diet Mountain Dew.  You’ll see me drinking this during the weekend.  I’m pregnant, I know.  My OB has approved a certain amount of caffeine and I walk freely in that.  :)  It’s a bad habit, though, really.

I wanted to be an astronaut too! I loved visiting the Houston space center :) I’m so excited to meet you and see everything that y’all have planned come to fruition as well!

I love that you drink Diet Mountain Dew. Hah! I lived off of Diet Coke during both of my pregnancies. Couldn’t function without it.

I am so very thankful for the time you and Jessi have put into this conference. I am beyond thrilled to get to be attending and I have been praying for the leadership team.

    I can’t wait!!

Oh and I love football to. Too much, actually. We truly schedule our social life around football games sometimes… ;)

I am SO excited to meet you, Hayley! I have only recently gotten into football, but now that I have, I love it. I was heartbroken to miss Michigan play Alabama this past weekend (and then heartbroken that Michigan lost even if I expected them to!).

Hi, Hayley! After following along with your blog for a little while, it will be fun to finally see you in person! Great work in your part in putting this all together. Thank you!

I love to hear about more football lovin ladies! I’m in two fantasy football leagues (managing one morphs into a pseudo-full time job every year) so I’m pretty much glued to my phone every Sunday to check my line ups. Thanks so much for hosting!

Can’t wait for the conference! Thanks for the extra encouragement I needed to attend. And my husband would probably freak out if he saw your toe thing. He can’t bend his toes, so any time I crinkle my toes he gets all weird. It’s the little things!

Hayley – This conference is an answered prayer. I just cannot wait to meet up with this community in person. Your blog is one that I visit daily for inspiration and food for thought. Looking forward to meeting you and your cute preggo self! And it’s definitely football season in this house too! We are huge Steelers fans (who just happen to live in Eagles country). God Bless you and the leadership team as you prepare for the conference these last few weeks! ~Bri~

Thank you Thank you for all of your hard work in putting this conference together! I know that God will bless. I’m so excited to hear more about “The No Brainer Wardrobe” from you. I’m moving into an Airstream trailer for a year with my hubby and little girl, and honestly, pairing down my wardrobe/shoes is going to be the hardest part I’m sure!
Can’t wait to meet you at the conference!

    -Shae :)
